Falling Star
And the night slowly stoppedIn an infinite replay.
Slowly, meticulous the sound,
Unbelievable the sight,
As if any second could
Bring the breakdown.
Graze the fabric of the sky,
Irradescent is the touch.
Clouds saturate for rain,
But the Earth contains enough.
A single glance of it--
And the land is brightly lit;
The excitement uncontainable,
And the reasons unexplainable.
Trying to grab the star,
A hand outreaches length;
But it didn't get that far,
For it never had the strength.
So hop into a car,
And load the gastank up on faith.
Unreachable until
Gravity brings it down,
But even then the star
Will just fade into the ground.
