This Is No High-Class Life
This is no Harvard-class lifebut something realer
than perfect plastic
rolled up in shabby clothes.
The answers, though expected,
are not beneath my sleeves.
As cliched as it sounds,
I lack the wings
and therefore am stuck
under the curse of gravity.
If you opened your eyes
then you'd learn
that some things left on their own
begin to burn away.
"Oh, silly," you'd say,
bobbing your head,
"you have absolutely no idea."
