Poem Commentary

This poem had to be ended, God good I could go on, what a generation, a great decade. I have to say we have the power to create a great generation, NOW. Another Word Sketch, by John E WordSlinger

The Wicked Rubix Cube Clan

The 80’s gave us something to achieve

The 80’s gave us something to believe

It was all good and everyone shared the charts

When you hear it today you can hear it’s heart

Remember watching Tv back in the day

when MTV had music videos and VJ’s?

The girls, they just wanted to have fun-

all over the world, the music blew your mind

It makes one wish they could have been there

Madonna, Cindi Lauper, timeless time after time

A song for the movie...the Goonies

You can imagine the magic from the 80’s

The Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink,

Every song was good that was released, they wink

From bad boy Metal, to let me call the Police

Johnny Depp, and Freddy in the Nightmare on Elm Street

The Solid Gold Tv Show ... ahh the dancers and the songs

I guess them days are long gone, but still break dancing on

There’s was a lot of one hit wonders

Those times will never go under

Everyone shared the Fame, Different Strokes

The 80’s was a complete wheel, with special spokes

And what about the stuff, the Scratch n' Sniff

Coleco NFL, Atari, Pac man, let me borrow it!

Pez heads, Bonkers, and Whatchamacallits

Pepsi free, Fis Wiz, and Garbage Pail Kids

I wish the 80's look came back.

I always thought fashions were hot

The pure simplicity of youth,

wonder and love of the 80's was allot

God, they were wonderful times

I would give anything to be living

back there again. Travel a day in the past

20 years have gone by in a flash,

It seems as if I can just close my eyes,

and reach out and touch them

Music today doesn't compare,

so I thought I’d transport you and share

So I kick back, and listen to Wicked Game

hold my woman, and dream a new start

The 80’s say, hey, hey, hey, Wild at Heart

call my name, and don’t forget about me

Long live the mighty, mighty eighties

I was in my 20's in the 80's-this verse made me recall a time when I was young and carefree-ALSO, I too miss the good old (original) 80's....Earthly
