Grace, A Prayer For Thy Enemy
Pleasing, pleasing…..
I’ve been praying for my enemies
Now they all pray for me
It all started out in the school yard
Two against’ one, maybe three?
Pleasing, pleasing…..
We were heathens and rotten
Now, we’ve learned what was forgotten
The label on the box said; Dangerous
Underneath it said, play with me, open
Pleasing, pleasing…
Our insides didn’t recoil at the thought
We were so dam hungry, we were caught
Anger to the bloodstream
We licked our prideful lips and fought
Pleasing, pleasing….
We ate from the plate of hate at Sins’ buffet
The stomach of life began to ache
My enemies now pray for their foe
To break the pain, curse, and blow, this is grace
Pleasing, pleasing -
our God-
the future
