    My Wish for You

     I have a wish,
    that's for no  one but you.
    It's a different kind of wish,
    but to me it's perfect.
    This is my wish...

    I wish I could catch the stars

    and put them all in a jar.
    I wouldn't know what to do
    except give them to you,
    to keep forever.
    Then the pain wouldn't matter, neither would the world
    It may be only a dream, like many others
    but someday I will make it true,
    bringing it all to life.
    The only thought in my mind is you
    and I know we'll make it someday.
    Until then, our love keeps us strong.
    Until then, I plan my wish.

     

    This was my wish, and now it's true.
    I caught all the fireflies,
    and put them in a jar for you.♥

    While I imagine this is written in theme to that of one’s boyfriend, it brings to mind my son. I would catch all the fireflies in the world should he ask it of me; and hence that is what love truly is-the need to provide and partake in the quest for happiness to that of a loved one. Well written.
