    Poem Commentary

    This is about a time I felt I had to be strong for the rest of my family when my grandmother had died. Everyone else was crying, so I felt like I had to be their rock. As much as I wanted to cry and weep with them, I couldn't. So this is a plea for someone else to take the pain and cry for me.

    Cry for me

    Cry for me,
    Cry for me, O Heavens.
    Cry for me the tears
    that will not fall
    from my eyes.

    No one may see the pain
    I hold in my heart,
    no one may know how much I hurt.
    Please, heavens, relese the
    tears that I hold back.

    No one may know but I
    what you cry for.
    Cry for me,
    let my sadness flow through you.
    Cry for me,
    Release my pain through your tears.
