What Happens?
Tears flow freely
as I wait for your response,
but none comes.
I glance at you
and again
my voice is in the distance
to you
as you watch
the characters on the screen.
Hurt and dismay
fill me over again-
I thought tonight
we were making
some headway...
Everyone cheers for me to leave,
to find someone better-
but fear grips me.
Because there is another-
much more precious to me
than you are-
who depends on having you here.
If I leave-
what is to become
of the two of us?
