remembering a legend
Romance seemed dead till a story came of a lighthouse keeper and her beau. Every year for her birthday they bought champagne to celebrate one year wiser. As they emptied it, they slipped a note into the bottle. "Someday, somebody's going to read this" she hoped. Six years in the future one couple did as they went diving. Touched by the hope, they wrote her. But already she was gone. Her beau wrote back telling them of her. Touched, they came to him. Together they remembered her, her beau and these two strangers. He said it was a message, she was still here, she was remembered.
