I said it
That name slipped out of my mouth
before I could catch it.
It hung in the air
between you and I.
I wished I could reach for it,
snatch it back,
before you could hear it.
But it was too late-
You had already heard it.
Ashamed I stand before you
wondering what you're going to do.
Ashamed and sorry,
I plead for you to forgive me.
