Leaving
My love for you
has disappeared,
just like yours
has for me.
You tell me you
despise me
for pressuring you
into marriage-
I never did.
If you felt so,
you should have left
before this
hatred ate your heart up
and left you with
an empty, cold shell.
Now, it has
and my hatred
for you
has left me bitter.
This relationship is
going nowhere,
it's a long, bleak road.
I have made my mind up
and you can watch
my back for
the very last time
as I walk out the door
and away from you.
