the first time
That first time we-
You taught me something new.
After-
I craved it, wanted more.
That feeling that made me feel so good.
I suddenly felt
so needed, so wanted.
Astounding, I thought,
someone could actually love me.
I never was used to this-
this awesome feeling
of want-
which you taught me
the very first time.
You were patient,
you were caring,
you showed me what to do
that very first time.
You took such care
to not hurt me,
that very first time.
If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
