Smothering Pain
Your anger presses me,
smothering me in
its heat.
You don't understand
how I could,
but forget that you
eternally do the same.
This pain,
I know often,
but don't believe
you are feeling
it cut through you.
Only now,
you are seeing
me anew-
with a sense
of wonder
do you gaze at me.
Never thinking
I am this bold,
to do the same
as you.
Now you know
the pain
that cuts so deep.
