    Don’t always believe what you read in the paper

    ‘ Cause truth be known, he did not rape her

     

    A terrible, unjust sentence he was handed

    And then was his family name also branded

     

    He wanted be the best coach and teacher

    That was the way that he would meet her

     

    Because of her age and her femininity

    They listened to her lies and devised a remedy

     

    Unforced was his response, I did not do it

    You must believe, I’m no meager fool

     

    At last to his judgement he was taken

    Even though they were all quite mistaken

     

    After all, what’s done is done

    Since the fight had to be won

     

    Worthy of justice, he was not to be

    For man cannot be saved by honesty

    Yes, I am aware of this verse and it's meaning for us now. I am only sad for so many suffer in the waiting of the revealing.Thanks for your patient and supportive heart.

    Lies of this nature have ruined many an innocents lives, on the other hand many a minor's lives have been shattered by an adult not being the adult and saying know. Finding the truth can sometimes be like finding the exit in a maze. Enjoyed this excellent write.

    I have a nepheew who is under house arrest for time already served because of others lies - i van feel your pain in your poem - nice

    Well written poem. I have a friend that was only 17 and he carries the stigma of an affair with a 15 year old girl. He will be on the sex offender list for the rest of his life. The girl was 15 going on 21 if you get my meaning. Great story about lies and deception.

    Truly this happens all of the time to innocent people. It's just not knowing who you can trust, basically and it's heartbreaking what it does to families and other; lives. Thanks for your understanding and reading my poetry and commenting.

    Oh my God! You are Great! It could not of been put in better words by any one else. It is such a Tragedy when someone's Life is taken away Due to a Lie. God Bless This Man and His Family! And May God Save this Persons soul That would Let the devil corrupt their mind! I will Be on my Knees saying an extra prayer For Them all!

    Believe me I feel the same as you described watching this happen next door to me. It's heartbreaking and I know he didn't do it. What comes around goes around they say. God will rectify it I am sure. Thanks for your comments.
