My Final Prayer

My Final Prayer

My Final Prayer
It was once nothing but the moon...
but now it has become a calling,
a beacon of arrival
for this beast that has
embedded itself within my soul.
The more I resist
the more pleasure it feels.
The louder I scream
the deeper it digs it's claws.
It not only senses my fear
but also draws strength from it,
using that which is closest to me
as a means to rip me apart.
I feel it's presense.
These horrific thoughts and desires fill my mind,
and the acidic taste of decay
festers on my tongue.
Hell has cursed me
with it's glowing eye.
I have tried to hold my faith
but this pain is relentless
and I have reached my limit,
so let this be my final prayer.
Dear Lord,
I know not what part I play
but I must believe there is a plan,
so I will yeild the remainder of my life.
I will stop fighting and allow this beast to consume me.
I fear my mind
will no longer be my own,
so I beg your forgivness
for what is about to come.

My Final Prayer

It was once nothing but the moon...

but now it has become a calling,

a beacon of arrival

for this beast that has

embedded itself within my soul.

The more I resist

the more pleasure it feels.

The louder I scream

the deeper it digs it's claws.

It not only senses my fear

but also draws strength from it,

using that which is closest to me

as a means to rip me apart.

I feel it's presence.

These horrific thoughts and desires fill my mind,

and the acidic taste of decay

festers on my tongue.

Hell has cursed me

with it's glowing eye.

I have tried to hold my faith

but this pain is relentless

and I have reached my limit,

so let this be my final prayer.

Dear Lord,

I know not what part I play

but I must believe there is a plan,

so I will yield the remainder of my life.

I will stop fighting and allow this beast to consume me.

I fear my mind

will no longer be my own,

so I beg your forgiveness

for what is about to come.

Hey dude awesome dark poetry! Love the impending doom side of you and always have. I hope you are doing well, and want to encourage you to keep on keepin on. You are and have always been one of my favorite writers on here so unique and dark and dank and soul wrenchingly honest. Check in to my page sometime i have written some lately,Jjust want to say as always - write on................Tempestlady.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
