A Cold Future

A Cold Future

I'm looking far into a future
A future beyond my life
Where the creator's creations
reflect his own fears of death

In an effort to leave behind
something timeless, something flawless
boundries were crossed
before they were discovered

Can we lust for an image
that never truly exists
Can we feel compassion for a likeness
without ever receiving it back

Do we define progress
by how far we've moved
from love

"Where the creators, creations reflect his own fear of death" Makes me wonder if the death the creator fears is to no longer be believed in. the last stanza made the entire write for me. How do we define our progress? 10 and into my favs old friend,

Whoa... some deeply stirring questions taking place within this poignantly futuristic piece that leaves the reader with much to ponder...good write!

There is a depth here I want to know more about. This piece, on it's own, is timeless... What if I had more insight as to the creator, the image, the likeness...? I am so intrigued by this piece that I want more. Do you think you may ever add a sequel? 10 from me and waiting... MSV

I'll talk to the studio about a sequel

The reality is never as magnificent as the fantasy, and never lives up to the anticipation. We all know this going in but, still, when the moment of realization comes we're disappointed.

Great write and read Artie. Another very intriguing and thought provoking poem. You certainly know how to make me think. Great work!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
