    A moment in time

    How cruel she was
    with her lovely olive skin
    her silky long black hair
    dark eyes
    and youthful breasts
    She was slender and petite
    a real looker

    Her Father
    I never met him
     was American Indian
    I don't remember the tribe
    perhaps Cherokee
but it showed best in her
    like an Indian Princes

    We three were close
    Colleen, Judy and I
    But Colleen was so cruel
    without regard for other's feelings
"He doesn't dig your skin, man"
    She said to shy
    and white skinned Judy

    Still, I loved her.
I think I once believed I could change her
The anger and fights were bad
Don't ask me what they were about
    I do not remember
     I only remember the anger
    the frustration and the caring.

In a fit of fancy, Colleen
     one afternoon
    ran away with Dick
and called me from Las Vegas
    they had just married.
We all knew Dick was gay.
Perhaps she thought she could change him.

Haha. I don't know why people feel as if they could change another person. It almost never happens. And I've never seen it first hand. Last two lines are my favorite. Thanks for the laugh.

We all know we can't change another, but at some time we all try. We can't even change ourselves. But don't judge my work on you're liking the message, rather on the work itself. LOL ;-)

What if i like the work and the message?

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
