Poem Commentary

This is probably a true story...

That Christmas Mouse

I was the Mouse in the house that Christmas
When reindeer landed on the roof
I didn't speak up when I should have
But I was there - and here's the proof

I was there when Santa came down the chimney
I was there when he yelled Ho-Ho-Ho
I saw his sooty outfit
I saw the milk and cookies go

I saw him go back up the chimney
He took off like the morning breeze
And after he was out of sight
I wondered - HEY - Where's my Christmas cheese?

Stryx, I certainly can relate t this , as one Christmas all I did was chase a rogue mouse around the house.Eventually he was trapped, yet he did celebrate...no cheese here either. LOL! ginga

Christmas from the eyes and ears of the resident mouse. Your wry humor has "trapped" us once again....................................Hampton

Thank you, Mr. C.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
