The Sounds Of A Church
I hear church bells ringing,
I hear people singing,
I hear babies crying,
I hear old people sighing.
I feel a tug on my heartstrings,
My mind is wrapped around terrible things,
I know I need to refresh my life,
My troubles cut through me like a knife.
The ringing, the singing,
Linger in my mind,
I know I need to change my heart,
Forever this time.
I walk back to the wonderful sounds
Of this little church,
And look through the crowd
For a seat on which to perch.
I hit my knees and begin to pray,
Thank God I heard these sounds today,
They drew me back where I needed to start,
I let God in, He’s changing my heart.
Thank you Father
For the sounds of this little church,
I’m very thankful for the trip I took,
So now it ends my peaceful search.
