The Mind In Motion
The Earth spins endlessly as does one’s mind
Constantly searching for answers amidst the
tangled webs of uncertainty and chaos
that cloud our everyday lives.
Questions without answers abound
Love and kindness constantly elude us
as greed and self focus prevail where
caring and giving once lived.
The mind is adrift in a sea of longing.
Longing for peace and the solitude
that accompanies tranquil days and nights
free of wondering what the creator has in store.
Riddles of every description consume one’s thoughts
and the universe that surrounds us seems not to notice
As the greatest stars in the sky are mere specs, so
it seems are we in our tiny and invisible world.
The mind of man will continue to search and wonder
Even though answers are as elusive as the vastness
of the infinite space that holds us captive in its
black, icy and ever expanding grip
If man survives the ages and does not selfishly annihilate
his own kind, might it be possible that someday his evolving mind
would be blessed with the answers…and that they will be so simple
that man will wonder in amazement at his own blindness?
