    Poem Commentary

    This represents the world from the point of view of the goldfish. Of course, from the perspective of the outside world, I'm not sure the goldfish's opinion counts for much...

    Goldfish

     We struggle with propriety,
    We think our lives not whole
    Because we feel confined just like 
    A goldfish in a bowl.

    But when the table jostles and
    The bowl begins its fall,
    We find, perhaps, confinement
    Wasn't quite so bad at all.
