Something Evil
There's something evil in the woodsBeneath the orange moon.
It grunts and bays and stalks it's prey
On dismal nights in June.
There's something in my bedroom, dark,
Behind the closet door.
I hear it's razor claws at night,
All clicking on the floor.
Another lurks beneath my bed
It's hiding from the light
And waiting for some ankles it
Can nosh on in the night.
But snuggled in pajamas, I
Am safe from claw and hook,
With Momma's lap, my Teddy Bear,
And favorite story book.
