    Poem Commentary

    This is the third time I've posted this one. It keeps disappearing from the site. Another ferry poem, written on the ferry enroute to work. Enjoy

    Lost

     How did we ever get so lost;
    Where did we go astray?
    Why, like children, wander off 
    Somewhere along the way?

    What has become of decency?
    Is kindness really dead?
    Has love succumbed to naught but lust
    And honor simply fled?

    Did charity fall prey to greed?
    Did truth on one dark day
    Spread her silver feathered wings
    Then up and fly away?

    It doesn't need to end like this,
    Not for me or you.
    By offering our hearts and hands
    We'll build the world anew.
