If I Could Love
If I could love but one more time,I'd like to spend that time with you,
When every day brought love anew.
We'd read the kids some nursery rhymes,
If I could just love one more time.
If I could live but one more day,
I'd like to live a day in spring,
When hummingbirds all take to wing,
We'd smell spring's flowers in bouquet,
If I had one more springtime day.
If I could eat but one more meal,
We'd sneak out to that French cafe,
Enjoy a glass of Beaujolais
And share the entrecotes of veal,
If I could just eat one more meal.
If I could breathe but one more breath,
I wish that breath would smell of you,
Perhaps some jasmine wafting through,
A breath of love and not of death,
If I could just breathe one more breath.
