    Poem Commentary

    This poem isn't directed at anybody in particular. Honestly. This is simply what I have told my kids when there was some kind of disagreement at school. If you lose your temper, the other guy just got you to do you exactly what he intended. In other words, he won.

    Self Control

     There are people who delight in confrontation,
    Who carry grudges far as they will go,
    Who jump on every chance of escalation,
    Who never like to let their weakness show.

    Yet some other folks think pride is just a weakness,
    And anger just a loss of self control,
    They hold their tongue and in a show of meekness
    Don't let the angry people claim their soul.

    Thank-you for recommending this poem to me. In the past few weeks, I have had a lot of things to worry about and at times I am ready to snap. Sometimes its hard even if the other person could win... but its one step at a time. Bac Glen, you always know what to say... Nhat-Quang
