    Poem Commentary

    Poem 4 for RHPeat's poetry class in the OP forums...

    Grace

     The silver rain like grace descends
    Upon the dusty arid lands,

    Bringing needed succor to
    Both plant and animal the same.

    And ere the sunbaked thirst is slaked
    The smell of rain on burning soil

    Bears skyward silent prayers of joy
    And thanks for the deliverance.

    While leaf and soil and creature all
    Quaff the bounty from above,

    Something deep is thereby stirred,
    A seed, an egg, a wilted bulb

    Tremble and upraise their heads
    Rejoicing in this sacred gift.

    And thus, by grace, the land renews,
    And life another cycle turns.

    gmcookie, I did not find poem 3, a conceit poem... ok... Your poem 4 follows the assignment for couplets, and your Intent is a sonnet, a poem of Earthlife needs of water to grow, written with pengrace, beautiful work... as to assignment requirements ... and, as with Aria's thought --- this poem, was to use a metaphor that suggests more than one interpretation... so as to practice substituting adjectives that relate to two separate experiences with the same description ? ok, that's my understanding....

    Every word of this piece is phenomenal! And the 6th line alone made me pause in appreciation of the beauty in the imagery. You have an incredible talent!

    Excellent piece, the Lord does indeed take care of what he has created. See the lilies of the field how they are dorned in beauty are his children deserving of any less? A 10 from me.
