Is Love a Lie
Is love a lie we tell our kids to help them get to sleep?Perhaps so they won't weep,
When night is cold and deep.
Like Santa Claus or Tinkerbell it just can not be true,
There can't be skies of blue
While clouds obscure the view.
For love should be the beacon fire that gleams in darkest night,
A point of brilliant light,
To set our course aright.
Yet war and greed erode away our thin humanity,
We live in vanity,
It's pure insanity.
Sometimes it seems that love is nothing but a fairy tale,
A phony bill of sale,
It's all to no avail.
