Nkosi
Nkosi lived but 12 short years.
He lived in dignity.
He lived and died as he was born,
Resisting HIV.
He really knew no other life,
And therefore came to be
Something of a pragmatist
In his philosophy.
"Do all you can", Nkosi said,
He spoke with head unbowed,
"With what you have, in where you're at
And with the time allowed".
So little time Nkosi had,
But as his life unfurled
Nkosi Johnson, orphaned boy,
Set out to change the world.
