Hummingbird
"That thing will never fly, itsAeronautically unsound.
There's no way in tarnation
You can get it off the ground!"
"It's wingspan is far too short,
It's body mass too high."
The engineers harrumphed and said
That "it would not EVER fly."
The birds took but just one look
And they were all chagrined,
"Its so small It will blow away
The first time there's a wind!"
"It's wings are short and stubby
It is lacking form and grace,
To bird kind that thing would be
Quite frankly, a disgrace."
But God just smiled impishly,
And when he said the word
Lo and behold, there it was,
A little humming bird.
It's maneuvers? Pure precision,
It could hover, it could fly,
It could back up! (unlike any
Other bird up in the sky).
The lesson we should learn here,
Is appearances mislead.
Its not our gifts, but effort,
That allows us to succeed.
